Next, I carefully examine the sculpture, noting its condition and unique needs. My assessments are rooted in decades spent by Richard Hunt’s side, understanding not just how the works were built but the intent behind every weld and surface. I share these insights with you in clear, accessible language so you feel fully informed.
3. Customized Care Plan
Based on the review, I create a tailored plan that outlines the recommended care, from cleaning to more advanced conservation. This is not a generic checklist — it’s a precise roadmap shaped by my firsthand knowledge of Hunt’s practice, designed to preserve both the beauty and value of the work.
4. Restoration & Conservation
With your approval, I carry out the work myself. Every touch, every technique is guided by museum-quality standards and my years working directly with Hunt. The goal is always subtle: to restore without intruding, to preserve without changing, and to keep the spirit of the sculpture intact.
5. Ongoing Stewardship
Once the immediate care is complete, I remain a resource. Whether it’s annual check-ins, advice on placement and environment, or preparing documentation for insurance or estate planning, I provide ongoing support. Think of me less as a service provider and more as a trusted partner in stewardship.
